Pew Sheet 18th February 2024

    First Sunday in Lent

    11.00 am. Family Communion. Hymns: 95, 416, 385, 96.

A prayer for the beginning of Lent:

Holy God, our lives are laid open before you; rescue us from the chaos of sin; give us grace to grow in holiness, to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Christ; and through the death of your Son bring us healing and make us whole. Amen.

Next Sunday, 25th February. Lent 2. 8.00 am. Holy Communion; 11.00 am. Matins.

During Lent there will be a Deanery Lent Course on Zoom: all are invited to participate, as follows: Sundays 25th February, 3rd March, 10th March (Mothering Sunday), 17th March and 24th March (Palm Sunday) from 5.30 to 6.30 pm.

    The Zoom link is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86594255282?pwd=UkZ2cytyMUd2OWN2Sy8yZndoMS8rZz09

    Meeting ID: 865 9425 5282 Passcode: 848920

Based on the Embrace the Middle East Resource, Healing & Hope in the One Household of God, each Sunday is a separate event – it does not require previous knowledge – only a Bible to look and follow the scripture references. It will also be a time of reflective prayer.

World Day of Prayer (formally Women’s World Day of Prayer)

The services for Malvern will be on Friday 1st March at 2.00pm at Christchurch, Avenue Road, Malvern and at 7.30pm at The Friend’s Meeting House, Orchard Road, Malvern.

This year’s service has been prepared by Christian women of Palestine. Given the current conflict in Gaza it will be a particularly poignant service and an opportunity to get a glimpse of life for those living in Palestine and a time to join with our brothers and sisters across the world as one Christian community.

We are privileged to have Colin and Ann Chapman to join us and introduce our service as they have personal experience of living and working in the Middle East.

The March Newsletter would welcome your contributions. Please send your articles, poems, photos etc. by 5th March.
