OPERATION SMILE! – our first Away Giving charity for 2026. During the month of March, we will be collecting for the charity Operation Smile, which is dedicated to improving the lives of children with cleft conditions. Did you know that some babies are unable to suck from birth? They are unable to feed or eat properly and so fail to thrive. Soon they know they look different. Their speech is not easily understood. Other children ignore them, tease them, or laugh. If during the pregnancy either the palate, or top lip, or both, fail to close properly it leaves a hole, a cleft. In the UK, corrective surgery is routinely conducted after birth. It is free. For some a child’s smile is priceless and for some it costs cash. For those youngsters unable to ask clearly “Why me?” or “How do I make friends without my smile?” there is an answer. Please support Operation Smile this month. Thank you.
A Messy Vintage Service – a service for older people and those with dementia and special needs, and their carers, will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Malvern Link, on Thursday 5th March at 2.00 pm. The theme will be ‘Celebrating Springtime.’ Parking available directly outside the church door. Light Refreshments will be served.
World Day of Prayer – Friday 6th March. This year’s theme is prepared by Christian women from Nigeria – ‘I will give you rest; come!” Services at Lansdown Methodist Church at 2.00 pm and 7.00 pm. A cash collection will be taken. Pauline Cross is the Chairperson of the Malvern WDP committee, and would be pleased to give you more information, and to have your support on the day.
On Sunday 22nd March, at Little Malvern Priory, at 4.00 pm, there will be a rendering of the Passion Cantata ‘Sacrifice Triumphant’, music by Basil Harwood (1859-1949). The music is interspersed with readings from the bible and congregational hymns. This act of worship will be a fitting way of marking our entry into Passiontide and Holy Week.
