Annual Parochial Church Meeting: This will take place in church on Monday 13th May at 6.00 pm. At this meeting reports are given on the business of the PCC in the last year; accounts are approved and elections held for the positions of churchwardens, parochial church council members and deanery synod representatives.
Rogation Day walk – ‘Beating the Bounds.’ You are invited to join this traditional walk when the congregation walks the boundaries of the parish, and prayers are offered for the blessing of the crops. Monday 6th May, starting from Little Malvern Priory at 9.30 am. The route is approximately five miles, and there will be a ‘comfort stop’ on the way. Please bring food and drink to enjoy. Being on the Malvern Hills, there are of course, ups and downs, and two stiles. Walkers participate at their own risk. For further details, please ring Alison Hunka 07763 464305.
Ascension Day – Thursday 9th May. There will be a celebration of Holy Communion at Little Malvern Priory at 12.00 noon. At 7.30 pm that day there will be a Deanery Service at St. Peter’s, Powick.
The funeral of Miss Ann Parker will take place at Little Malvern Priory at 11.00 am on Friday 10th May.
The St. Giles’ Players will give a concert at Little Malvern Priory on Saturday 11th May at 7.30 pm. Music for violin, viola, piano and organ, including works by Purcell, Mozart, Telemann and Beethoven, with Brigid Kirkland-Wilson, Alison Hunka and Janet Geerlings. Free entry. There will be a collection for The Friends of the Holy Land.
On Thursday 23rd May at Little Malvern Priory there will be a Spring Concert with the Jenny Lind Singers at 7.30p.m., in aid of ‘Save the Children.’ The concert will feature works by local composers Alec Roth and Liz Dilnot Johnson, together with Holst, Elgar, Carol Jones, Hildegard of Bingen and others. Wine and Canapes will be served. Tickets £12 from Lynne Lindner or Frank Jones.
